Frequently asked questions
How do I open Settings?
Tap anywhere on the visualization to reveal the Settings button. The button hides again after a few seconds so the visualizer can stay distraction-free.
Why does Groove Buddy request microphone access?
The Mic audio source measures sound around your device so the graphics can react. Audio is processed on the device and is not transmitted to Groove Buddy or used for speech or song recognition. See the Privacy Policy.
What happens if I don't allow microphone access?
Groove Buddy automatically uses Demo mode, which generates an animated musical pattern without listening to the microphone. You can also select Demo in Settings.
Can Groove Buddy visualize music playing on the same device?
Mobile operating systems do not let Groove Buddy directly analyze audio from other apps. For the best response, play music through speakers so the microphone can hear it. Headphones may not produce enough room sound for Mic mode.
How do I mirror the visualizer to a TV?
Open Settings and choose Mirror to TV. On iPhone or iPad, use AirPlay Screen Mirroring from Control Center. Your device and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Groove Buddy remains open and continues reacting through the device microphone.
Does Groove Buddy require internet access?
No. The visualizer and Demo mode work offline. AirPlay or casting may require a local Wi-Fi connection.
